Himachal Pradesh witnesses a two-fold increase in Covid-19 cases

Himachal Pradesh CM Jairam Thakur called it a "matter of concern" after the state reported an increase in Covid-19 cases.

Himachal Pradesh is considered one of the best places of tourist attraction. However, Covid-19 hit the state badly which in turn impacted the tourism industry. Gradually, the number of cases were reducing and things were returning to normal when once again huge tourist crowds started emerging in the state and led to an increase in the number of Covid-19 cases.

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jairam Thakur on Monday called it a "matter of concern" after the state reported an increase in the number of Covid-19 cases. CM stated that the active number of coronavirus cases in the state has now increased from 850 to 1,900. " We will discuss the issue in the cabinet meeting on Tuesday," he said. He added that no one knows what type of situation will arise in the coming days.

While discussing in the meeting, the Congress MLA from Kinnaur district, Jagat Singh Negi said that both the state and central government have failed to properly handle the Covid-19 pandemic.

The fear of the third wave of Covid-19 is quite alarming as the number of cases are incessantly increasing in Himachal Pradesh as tourist crowd is being witnessed in the state.
