Indian pacer Mohd. Shami faced abusive trolls on the internet after Pakistan won by 10 wickets
The pacer Mohammad Shami from the Indian cricket team has faced abusive trolls on the social media platforms after the defeat by ten wickets over the Pakistan team. Mohd. Shami was targeted for much trolling after the paceman returned figures of 0/43 in 3.5 overs.
Shami had a stroke of poor luck on Sunday evening. In his over the opposing team completed the target of 152 runs with Mohammad Rizwan depositing the Indian pacer to all parts of the ground in Dubai. This victory is the comeback of the Pakistani team after five straight losses over the years against the Indian team.
Some Netizens had given many abusive comments after his performance. This breakout is an online attack on the pacer. One of them also wrote, " A Muslim sided with Pakistan. How much money did you receive?" moreover one has written “A Pakistani in Team India”. The trollers connected the bowler to play for the opposing team as he is a Muslim. He is labelled as a "traitor" by the netizens.
Despite the abusive trolls by the netizens, many stood in the solidarity of the Indian bowler Mohd. Shami includes the legend cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar and his ex-opening partner Virender Sehwag, Leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, Yusuf Pathan and many others.
According to the former cricketer Sachin tweet," When we support #TeamIndia, we support every person who represents Team India. @MdShami11 is a committed, world-class bowler. He had an off day like any other sportsperson can have. I stand behind Shami & Team India." He tweeted in support of the pacer.
Moreover, Veteran India spinner Harbhajan Singh also extended his support to Shami. "We love you @MdShami11," wrote Harbhajan on Twitter.
