IMD predicts "Very Heavy Rainfall" in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand till July 30, it also warned for heavy rainfall today in Himachal Pradesh.


On Wednesday the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that the current spell of heavy rainfall activity with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to continue over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and other neighbouring States till July 30. It also predicted extremely heavy falls over Himachal Pradesh today and Uttarakhand on July 28 and 29.

This alert came after Cloudburst in Himachal Pradesh which resulted in 10 missing and one injured. The incident took place in Himachal Pradesh's  Lahaul - Spiti  which is full-fledged  with floods. Meanwhile, The search operation is under process.

Rainfall will also continue over Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh for the next three days. According to the statement of the weather department isolated extremely heavy falls are also very likely over Gangetic West Bengal on July 28 and 29 July ,for Jharkhand on 29 and 30, Chhattisgarh on July 30, East Madhya Pradesh on July 31 and for Konkan and Goa, Ghats of Central Maharashtra between July 28 and August 1.
