India announces supply of COVID 19 vaccines to six countries under grant assistance

On Tuesday, India declared that adhering to grant assistance it is planning to supply COVID 19 vaccines Bhutan, Nepal, Myanmar, Maldives, Bangladesh and Seychelles from Wednesday. The vaccination drive started in India on 16 January with approval of two vaccines Oxford's Covishield developed by Serum Institute of India and Covaxin developed by Bharat Biotech. Catering to domestic demands, India will soon tend to meet requirements of partner countries in coming weeks in a phased manner as said by the Ministry of External Affairs.

It further said that India is waiting for confirmations and regular clearance certification from Sri Lanka, Mauritius and Afghanistan for supply of vaccine. In the statement issued by MEA it has been highlighted that the demands for Vaccines produced by India are rising among neighbouring and key partner countries. It read, "In response to the surging requests and upholding India's commitment to production and delivery of vaccine to heal the humanity and standing with world to fight pandemic, India will begin exports to Bhutan, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Bangladesh and Seychelles will begin from January 20 under grant assistance."

"We are waiting for approvals and regular clearance certificates from Sri Lanka, Mauritius and Afghanistan," it added. As far as 0.81% adversities have been registered after the greatest inoculation drive of the world started in India.

"Owing to responsibilities toward humanity, India will be honoured to hold a trustworthy spot in the world to meet the healthcare needs of the world. Exports of vaccines to several countries will be starting from tomorrow, leading more in days to follow," Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted. India has fastened its drive to serve the nation and world in eradication of Covid ravages. World is swinging in a critical cradle, struggling to find a way out of the horrible pandemic and with nations coming together in this struggle, we can achieve our aim.
