The Subject Expert Committee (SEC) is scheduled to meet today to recommend the emergency use of the Russian vaccine Sputnik V. If the SEC recommends emergency use, it will be sent to the country's Drug Controller General (DCGI) VG Somani for final approval.

They will allow its emergency use. Dr. Reddy's Laboratories is manufacturing this vaccine in India. He has already submitted the data for the third phase trial. The Russian vaccine Sputnik V proved to be 91.6 percent effective in the third phase trial.

Corona vaccination continues in the country. So far, 6.30 crore doses of Corona vaccine have been given. Two vaccines are being used for vaccination. The vaccine, developed by Oxford University-AstraZeneca, has been developed by the Serum Institute of India, Pune, in India under the name of covishield. The second vaccine is entirely indigenous India biotech covaxin. Vaccination began in the country on 16 January.

First health workers and frontline workers were vaccinated. After this, vaccination of people above 60 years and above 45 years of serious illness started. From April 1 onwards all people over the age of 45 will be vaccinated.
