4 Australian tourists test positive in Rajasthan…
On Thursday, 16 March 2023, India reported 618 fresh Coronavirus cases and five deaths in the last 24 hours, according to the data shared by the Union health ministry.
Meanwhile, four tourists from Australia are under observation at Rajasthan University of Health Sciences (RUHS) hospital in Jaipur as a precautionary measure.
Two Covid cases were reported from Karnataka, two in Maharashtra and one in Uttarakhand.
India has been registering an increase in daily cases over the past few weeks, with the death toll also rapidly increasing.
The active cases in the country increased to 4,197 while the death toll climbed to 5,30,789. The national Covid-19 recovery rate has been recorded at 98.80 per cent.
Data shared by the health ministry show there are 15 other districts in states like Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh, and J&K in which the positivity rate is hovering between 5 per cent and 10 per cent.
Data from different states include; Himachal Pradesh which registered 28 fresh Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours while Gujarat saw 90 fresh Covid-19 cases.
According to the Union health ministry, nine districts across the country have recorded Covid-positivity rates of greater than 10 percent in the last week (March 8-14).
