India recorded 63 new coronavirus cases

Over 44.46 million people have recovered from the disease so far...


New Delhi: India recorded 63 fresh coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours, along with decreasing the active caseload to to 1,910 from 1,925, according to an update by the health ministry on Monday.

 

Total case tally stood at at 4.49 crore (4,49,93,543), while death toll has been recorded at 531,896.

 

Health experts have noted a decrease in hospital admissions due to the declining number of cases. Despite this, elderly individuals and those with comorbid conditions remain at risk

 

Over 44.46 million people have recovered from the disease so far, marking a recovery rate of 98.81%. About 77 people recovered in the past 24 hours.

 

The health ministry advised the state governments to examine the situation of covid-19 at micro level--district and sub-districts--and maintain focus on implementation of necessary measures for prompt and effective management of covid-19 duly ensuring effective compliance.

 

Around 30,718 tests were conducted in a day taking the total number of tests to 92.93 crore.

 

Under the covid vaccination drive, more than 220.67 crore vaccine doses have been administered to people across the country so far.

 

In the last 24 hours, around 160 vaccine doses were given.
