India Recorded 949 New Covid Cases In 24 Hours

National COVID-19 recovery rate remained at 98.76 per cent!


New Delhi: On Friday, 15 April 2022, India reported 949 new COVID-19 cases, taking the coronavirus tally to 4, 30, and 39,974.

According to the Union Health Ministry, the country also reported 6 Covid-related deaths in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of fatalities to 5, 21,742.

The number of active cases of COVID-19 currently stands at 11,191.

The active cases account for 0.03 per cent of the total caseload, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate remained at 98.76 per cent.

810 recoveries in the last 24 hours increases the total recoveries to 4, 25, and 07,038.

The daily positivity rate was recorded at 0.26 per cent and the weekly positivity rate was 0.25 per cent, according to the ministry.

Earlier this month, the disaster body withdrew the order on wearing masks in public. It also dropped the fine on not wearing masks.

In February, it lifted all restrictions in the wake of the significant improvement in the COVID-19 situation in the city.

The Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) will hold a meeting on April 20 to discuss measures to prevent the spread of coronavirus in the city, officials said.

The Covid positivity rate in the national capital has jumped from 0.5 per cent to 2.39 per cent in a week, even doctors said it was "not a panic situation" as the count of daily cases was still low, but cautioned against dropping the guard.
