24 Virus-Related Deaths In A Day!

The Covid-19 cases have been rising across the country. Whereas India reports 16,464 cases of the deadly virus along with it reports 24 deaths leading to the virus,  taking the total tally of COVID-19 cases to 4,40,36,275, while the active cases increased to 1,43,989, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Monday.

The death count climbed to 5,26,396 with 24 new fatalities, the data updated at 8 am stated.

The active cases comprise 0.33 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.48 per cent, the health ministry said.

The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 4,33,65,890 while the case fatality rate was recorded at 1.20 per cent.

According to the ministry, 204.34 crore doses of Covid vaccine have been administered in the country so far under the nationwide COVID-19 vaccination drive.

India crossed the grim milestone of two crore on May 4, three crore on June 23 last year and four crore on January 25 this year.

The 24 fatalities include seven from West Bengal, three from Maharashtra, two each from Karnataka, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, and one each from Assam, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, and Sikkim.
