India Reports 16,866 New Covid

41 Virus-Related Deaths…

The cases of deadly Covid-19 have been fluctuating all across the country. Few states are witnessing a surge in daily count of the deadly virus.

India witnesses 16,866 new cases of Covid-19 carrying 41 deaths related to the virus. The country on Sunday had reported 20,279 new infections. 

According to the information, a total of 41 deaths were reported with 18,148 recoveries in the last 24 hours.

The Central Government is committed to accelerating the pace and expanding the scope of COVID-19 vaccination throughout the country. The nationwide COVID-19 vaccination started on January 16, 2021.

The new phase of universalization of COVID-19 vaccination commenced on June 21, 2021. The vaccination drive has been ramped up through the availability of more vaccines, advance visibility of vaccine availability to States and UTs for enabling better planning by them and streamlining the vaccine supply chain.

In the new phase of the universalization of the COVID-19 vaccination drive, the Union Government will procure and supply (free of cost) 75 per cent of the vaccines being produced by the vaccine manufacturers in the country to States and UTs.

Meanwhile few states including Kerala has been witnessing an incessant surge in the Covid-19 cases. On Monday, state Health Minister Veena George said Kerala is continuing to strictly follow all COVID-19 protocols and the reporting of Monkeypox has not led to any slack in the preventive measures against the pandemic.
