India Reports 2,628 New COVID-19 Cases

18 Deaths In 24 Hours!


India reported at least 2,628 new COVID-19 cases today, taking the total tally of coronavirus cases to 4,31,44,820, while the active cases increased to 15,414, according to the Union Health Ministry.

 

The number of Covid-related deaths reached 5,24,525 with 18 more people dying due to the virus, the data showed today.

 

The active cases comprise 0.03 percent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.75 per cent, the ministry said.

 

Covid Hasn't Gone Away Completely, Continue To Wear Mask: Uddhav Thackeray

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray today appealed to the people of the state not to lower their guard against COVID-19 because of the rise in cases, and said they should continue to wear face masks to prevent the spread of infection.

 

As per the official data, 79.66 percent of the new cases were reported from these five states and Kerala alone was responsible for 28.42 per cent of the new cases.

 

While 747 cases were logged from Kerala, 470 were from Maharashtra. Delhi, Haryana, and Karnataka reported 424, 245 and 208 Covid-19 cases, respectively.

 

India administered a total of 13,13,687 doses in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally of doses to 1,92,82,03,555. A total of 4,52,580 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
