India vs West Indies: Shikhar Dhawan To Return In The Series Finale

India has already sealed an unbeatable 2-0 lead in the series

India will look to complete their first-ever series sweep under Rohit Sharma’s full-time captaincy as the hosts take on the West Indies in the 3rd and final match of the series at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

All the Indian fans' eyes were on Rohit Sharma as he took charge of the captaincy after Virat Kohli was sacked as the Indian captain. And the Hitman passed with flying colours as India won its first series of 2022 under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy.

India performed well in both the ODI’s their bowling and batting performance were both good as they dismissed the visitors for 176 runs in the first ODI and gave a target of 237 runs in the second ODI.

India will take on West Indies in the series finale on 11 February. Rohit Sharma confirmed that Shikhar Dhawan, who recovered from Covid-19 earlier this week, will open the batting with him.

Shikhar Dhawan tested positive for Covid-19 before the start of the series and missed both the ODI’s because of Covid.

Youngster Ruturaj Gaikwad returned from the Covid isolation as well but will likely have a chance to play in the starting XI of the last ODI.

“We will get Shikhar back for the next game, and he needs some game time. It is not always the results. We wanted to try it one game,” Rohit Sharma said.

While vice-captain KL Rahul is expected to bat at No.4. Pant is likely to get back to his finisher role.

Rishabh opened the batting with Rohit Sharma in the second ODI; it was an experiment that failed miserably as Pant was not able to perform.
