India women's hockey team beats South Africa, wins second consecutive game

Vandana Katariya scored a hat-trick and Neha Goyal scored the goal to seal the game.

The Indian women's hockey team on Saturday recorded its second consecutive win by defeating South Africa 4-3 in the final Pool A match in the ongoing Tokyo Olympics. Vandana Katariya scored a hat-trick and Neha Goyal scored the goal to seal the game. India had scored 1-0 in its last match against Ireland.

India concluded the group stages by securing six points from five games. With today's win, India still has a chance to play in the quarterfinals. However, the result of the last Pool A match between Great Britain and Ireland will determine India's fate. If Ireland loses in today's match in the evening or it ends with a draw, India will have a place in the quarterfinals.
