India won against Scotland results in Highest Net Run-Rate in Group 2

India won by 8 wickets against Scotland, the NRR reaches +1.619

India has won the triumph by eight wickets over Scotland in Super 12 of ICC World Cup T-20 in Dubai. India has chased the target of 83 in 6.3 overs to go past New Zealand and Afghanistan in net run-rate. After playing a heart-whelming match, Team India has built up the highest net run-rate (NRR) of +1.619 among Group 2. However, it will come into play only if Afghanistan beat New Zealand on Sunday. If the Kiwis win, India’s T20 World Cup is over.

After winning the toss, India chose to ball first. Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Shami picked up three wickets each. Jasprit Bumrah bagged two as Scotland collapsed for a paltry total of 85 runs. Rest, bowlers of the team gave complimentarily performance to win the match. Together, they were precise to win this match yesterday.

KL Rahul hit a blistering fifty as India chased down the 86-run target with eight wickets and 81 balls to spare, which helped the team high-up such a run rate.

After this match, India has a hope to get back to the semi-finals and build the highest run rate but this is only possible if New Zealand loses to Afghanistan on Sunday.

In earlier matches, India had lost 2 matches from Pakistan and New Zealand which gradually resulted in a negative run rate.

The nature of the win on Friday saw India's NRR subsequently jump to +1.619, the best in the group. India had an NRR of -1.609 after their opening two defeats.

To stick the further matches for team India, New Zealand should slip against Afghanistan on Sunday, then only India will have the advantage.

India will need to make sure that they beat Namibia in their final group game and that their NRR stays above that of the Afghan side to reach the semis.
