Indian ministry’s reaction on UN’s say on Hathras Rape Case


Recently the crucifying event occurred again, and still gave us a spine thrilling experience and every other time it never disappoints us. A horrifying event occurred to an 22 year old dalit girl, who was not left to die who was forced to feel unfathomable pain in her every breath and then simply burnt.

In the amid of these things UN Resident Coordinator in India Renata Dessallien also released her statement, as she was grabbing our attention towards the sexual violence against girls and women of the country. Further added that those who belong to the lower grade are more prone to this harsh treatment as done in Hathras case. In a statement, she said it is essential that authorities ensure the perpetrators are brought to justice speedily and families are empowered to seek timely justice, social support, counselling, healthcare and rehabilitation.

So Responding to the UN official’s statement, the Ministry of External Affairs said that any “unnecessary comments by an external agency are best avoided” and that these cases have been taken “extremely seriously” by the government.“UN Resident Coordinator in India should be aware that these cases have been taken extremely seriously by the government,” he said.“Since the investigation process is still underway, any unnecessary comments by an external agency are best avoided,” Srivastava said.

Underlining that the Constitution guarantees equality to all citizens, Srivastava said as a democracy “we have a time-tested record of providing justice to all sections of our society”.
