Inside Story of India China Disengagement, The Operation of Indian Army Which Proved Turning Point

The process of withdrawal of Indian and Chinese troops on LAC in the East Ladakh sector continues. Army's Northern Command chief Lt Gen YK Joshi told the inside story of the disengagement. In an interview, Joshi said that on 29-30 August, an army operation changed the air. China's arrogance emerged from the capture of Indian troops on the strategic peaks of Rezang La and Rechin La on the southern side of Pangong

The dispute over LAC (Line of Actual Control) in the East Ladakh sector between India and China seems to be reaching its conclusion. Both the country's soldiers have started retreating from the front. For the past 9 months, there has been tremendous military tension in both neighboring countries, which is now on the verge of ending. The Chinese troops, who have entered the Indian border up to Finger-4, have to return at last. However, in reaching these results, there were many such occasions when it seemed that war is now going on in both nuclear-rich countries. During the deadlock, the Indian Army was given a free hand to carry out any operation against Chinese troops. Only after this did the Indian troops overturn the LAC.

These things were told by Lieutenant YK Joshi, Chief of the Northern Command of the Army in one of his interviews. Joshi said that China had reached Finger-4 in our region. Violent clashes had also taken place in Galvan. Apart from this, China's table was also heavy on the negotiating table. In such a situation, when the talks did not appear to be successful, then the army received special instructions from above. These instructions were asked to do something that would put pressure on China. Joshi said that the open exemption was given from the top that we had. Subsequently, on the intervening night of 29–30 August, Rezang La and Rechin La were captured by the Indian troops on the southern shore of Pangong Lake and the Indian Army occupied positions. After this, when the next round of talks took place, India's pan was heavy. However, during this time there also came a time when there was a war between the two countries.

Joshi said that on 30 August, when the Indian troops captured Rezang La and Rechin La, the Chinese army wanted to come face to face in the Kailash range. Apart from this, Indian soldiers were also given an open exemption for any operation. Joshi said that in such a situation when the enemy sees the soldiers of the country coming towards you, then the possibility of war becomes strong. He said that we were standing on the verge of war. That time was very challenging for us.

Significantly, after a long tense atmosphere, Chinese and Indian troops have started returning from the disputed area of East Ladakh. After agreeing to disengagement, China has also started removing its temporary construction there. It was told that disengagement will not change the status quo on LAC and China will not encroach on Indian territories.
