IPL 2020 CSK V/S RCB: Chennai Super Kings finally grabbed a win against Royal Challengers Bangalore

The 44th match of IPL proved to be a blessing in disdain for Chennai Super Kings after their subsequent defeats in the tournament. This win may not slide the burden of unsatisfactory performance under the carpet but had definitely bewitched the audience. After so long, Chennai turned the tables in their favor against leading team of Royal Challengers Bangalore, defeating them by 8 wickets. The trend may not last long but had definitely urged another layer of expectations and cheer among fans of Yellow army.

Challengers sent Super Kings to bowl after winning the toss in Dubai International Stadium. They posted a decent target of 146 runs on loss of 6 wickets. Chennai excelled in both batting and bowling department, slamming the critical views framed in time being. CSK dragged themselves across the finish line in 18.1 overs which was quite astonishing to gulp but blissful at same time.

The Man of the Match, Ruturaj Gaikwad compelled the supporters to dwell in amusement spread on the field due to his amazing hits. He smashed 65 runs off 51 balls without dismissal with jaw dropping 4 fours and 3 sixes. Ambati Rayudu also pulled up 39 runs off 27 balls which was commendable. Faf du Plesis (25 off 13) and MS Dhoni (19 off 21) also contributed the needful. Bangalore gave a tough fight but still victory landed in Chennai's court. Virat Kohli knocked a quick 50 off 43 balls making it a tough scuffle.

Sam Curran emerged as the highest wicket taker dismissing 3 wickets in 3 overs, choking RCB under 150. Deepak Chahar on the other hand crushed 2 wickets. Finally, scrounged a needle of support for CSK in the field but it will be interesting to witness further games. It is disheartening to see Chennai out of the playoffs in a long time. Faf du Plessis appreciated the spinners saying, "The spinners bowled really good against strong batting line up of RCB. Restricting RCB under 150 was an accomplishment."
