IPL 2020 DC V/S RCB: Delhi Capitals climbs up the pedestal by defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore by 59 runs

A great landmark encountered by Delhi in the stumbling history of IPL

The 19th match of IPL between DC and RCB was a crucial one for both teams due to their neck to neck tussle evident on the points table. Finally, Delhi delivering an impalpable chase of 196 runs made their way out of a tough maze. The delightful presentation of the game by Delhi stunned the challengers and fans indeed.

Part of the victory could be credited in Kagiso Rabada's account due to his star emergence. He uprooted 4 wickets off 24 balls, including the key wicket of Virat Kohli and made a special room for his appreciation. Marcus Stoinis on the other hand aced the batting field with his unbeatable half century smashing 53* off 26 balls. Prithvi Shaw (42 off 23), Shikhar Dhawan (32 off 28) and Rishabh Pant (37 off 25) made their noticeable contribution in posting a difficult run chase of 197 runs on loss of 4 wickets against RCB.

RCB won the toss and elected to send DC to bat the field. Axar Patel and Anrich Nortje added two wickets each on DC's account while R Ashwin dismissed one wicket. Virat Kohli hammered 43 off 39 balls but they weren't of desired help due to unflattering performance by Devdutt Padikkal, Aaron Finch and AB de Villiers who were dismissed in quick succession leaving the Challengers in disdain. The gigantic 89 run partnership between Shaw and Marcus poured glee in the eyes of fans.

The gravity of match could be understood by deafening victories occurring day by day making the competition stiffer than ever. Every point can lead a shuffle in spot. Rabada after demolishing 4 wickets said "I think it was a really good win tonight. After that win at Sharjah it gave us a lot of confidence against a team like RCB who have some really good batsmen. It also gives us massive confidence having won today. I don't really plan to get wickets, you can only control in which areas to bowl."  and brought out the confidence the win imparted.
