IPL 2020 MI V/S RR: Mumbai Indians Made A Hat Trick Defeating Rajasthan Royals By 57 Runs.

Mumbai Indians defeated Rajasthan Royals by 57 runs.

The 20th match of IPL 2020 proved to be a major boost for MI as they once again acquired top spot on points table snatching it from Delhi Capitals defeating Royals by 57 runs. This is their third win in a row which made them an uncontrollable threat among other teams and talk of cricket town.

It was a great day for Mumbai which was evident in their delightful and killing performance full of enormous wrecking hits crossing the boundaries of Sheikh Zayad Stadium, Abu Dhabi. Mumbai Indians won the toss and elected to bat the field. They delivered a tough run chase of 194 runs on the loss of 4 wickets. The victory is well deserved due to the appreciable efforts of Suryakumar Yadav. With an unbeaten bang on the scoreboard, he smashed 79 runs off 47 balls. He swayed 11 fours and 2 sixes out of the boundary compelling audience to leave their seats and applaud his performance. Adoring his game MI skipper said "A good Surya innings was coming, I spoke to him before the game, and his shot selection was perfect today. We wanted him to bat till the end because he can innovate rather well."

Well the day was a total catastrophe for Rajasthan Royals due to flawless bowling by Defending Champions MI. Not only the target but they choked their bats to score out of the game. Rajasthan was dismissed in 18.1 overs raising their bar to only 136 runs. The magnificent task was accomplished by wicket stumbling deliveries by fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah who single handedly knocked off 4 wickets off 20 balls. The legacy was further carried on by James Pattinston and Trent Boult dismissing two wickets each. Rahul Chahar and Kieron Pollard took 1 wicket each. This was really heartbreaking and jaw dropping for RR's fans. MI registered their first win against RR since 2015.

On Rajasthan's end, Jos Buttler smashed 70 runs off 44 balls but this hadn't dragged his team to the end of the line. Well, the day decorated the sky with fireworks for Mumbai but this had laid a weight of expectations on their shoulders. Losing Captain Steve Smith criticized his team and said, "I think losing wickets early doesn't help, we haven't been able to get off to a good start in the last three games". It will be really interesting to trace games of both the teams in coming matches.
