The 22nd match of IPL was an unsettling one for the fans of Kings XI Punjab after Sun Risers fans were overwhelmed by an amazing win, defending 69 runs.

Sun Risers Hyderabad climbed up to third spot after this enormous win. Kings XI Punjab after their 4th defeat in a row is at bottom of table. SRH won the toss and chose to bat the field. With the fearsome batting partnership of David Warner and Jonny Bairstow, SRH posted a total of 201 on the loss of 6 wickets. Jonny Bairstow (Man of the match) smashed 97 runs off 55 balls and shook the scoreboard with power packed boundaries (7 fours and 6 sixes). David Warner hit a flawless 52 off 40 balls threatening Punjab with their undaunted performance. They captured the hearts of fans with their adorable start and made to top 5 in the race for Orange Cap.

Not only batsmen bowlers equally paved the path to victory. Rashid Khan undoubtedly carrying his incredible game forward emerged as the highest wicket taker. He took 3 wickets in 4 overs. T Natarajan and Khaleel Ahmed also made the team proud contributing 2 wickets each. Abhishek Sharma uprooted 1 wicket which bundled KXIP for 132 runs in 16.5 overs dismissing all the wickets. Amidst such disappointing performance by Punjab, Nicholas Pooran scored 77 off 37 balls which were insignificant towards the end.

SRH Skipper David Warner appreciated the team and his partnership with Bairstow. He said "Pooran was hitting everywhere. Rashid is a world class bowler. It is great to have him, what a player. We (Bairstow and him) love batting with each other. At the moment, I am rotating strikes for him. We have a tough game against RR here, it will be a tough game and hope to put 200 again."
