Israeli forces attacked Palestinians worshippers in Al-Aqsa

At least 400 Palestinians were arrested.....


Israeli police have attacked and arrested Palestinian while worshipping in Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied East Jerusalem, according to witnesses.

 

On Wednesday at least 400 Palestinians were arrested and remain were under Israeli custody, as per Palestinian officials. 

 

Israeli police used excessive forces along with stun grenades and tear gas, which causes suffocation injuries to worshippers, and beaten with batons and rifles.

 

According to Palestinian Red Crescent 12 people were injured, three were moved to the hospital. In a statement it is also mentioned that Israeli forces prevented its medics from reaching Al-Aqsa.

 

Until Wednesday morning the raids continued where Israeli forces again seen assaulting and pushing people out of the mosque compound and preventing them from praying.

 

When the police entered, stones were thrown at them and fireworks were fired from inside the mosque by a large group of agitators,” the statement said, adding that a police officer was wounded in the leg.

 

Tension has already been high in occupied East Jerusalem and West Bank for months. There are fears of further violence as important religious festivals – the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan and the Jewish Passover – converge.

 

The attacks were anticipated as there have been calls on social media urging Palestinians to come to Al-Aqsa and “defend it from the occupiers”.

 

Jews are allowed to visit the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound during routine visiting hours of non-Muslims.
