Kangana Ranaut said 'Indira Gandhi Crushed Khalistanis Like Mosquitoes'

Complaint Filed Against Kangana for her remarks on Indira Gandhi

The Indian Youth Congress and the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee have filed police complaints against Kangana Ranaut for allegedly making 'seditious and derogatory remarks' on social media.

At the Parliament Street Police Station, National secretary of NYC, Amreesh Ranjan Pandey and Co-coordinator of the party's legal cell, Ambuj Dixit filed a complaint against Kangana.

Lauding former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, Kangana wrote she took decisive action against 'Khalistanis'.

Kangana wrote that despite the undeniable fact that Indira Gandhi caused "suffering" to the nation, she crushed 'Khalistanis' like mosquitoes at the cost of her life.

Kangana wrote about Indira Gandhi and how she crushed those working to disintegrate the country, on Instagram.

Kangana Said, "Khalistani terrorists may be arm twisting the government today... But let's not forget one woman... The only woman prime minister ne inn ko apni jooti ke neeche crush kiya tha (the only woman PM who crushed them under her shoes). No matter how much suffering she caused to this nation... she crushed them like mosquitoes at the cost of her own life.... Lekin desh k tukde nahi hone diye."

Ranaut further added, "Even after decades of her death... aaj bhi uske naam se kampte hain yeh.... Inko vaisa he guru chahiye... (they shiver from her name even today...they need such a guru)."

The complaint letter was marked to an additional commissioner of police in Mumbai and the cyber cell of the Delhi Police located at the Mandir Marg police station.

The DSGMC, in its complaint, alleged that through her post, Ranaut has "intentionally" and "deliberately" portrayed the farmers' protest as "Khalistani movements".

The DSGMC sought "strict legal action" against the actress from the authorities after registering an FIR against her.

"It is submitted that the post is deliberately prepared and shared with criminal intention to hurt the feelings of the Sikh community," it alleged.

DSGMC president and Shiromani Akali Dal leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa slammed the actress over her alleged derogatory remarks targeting Sikhs.

They also asked the government to take strict action against Kangana.

Sirsa said in a tweet that, "She should either be put in a mental hospital or jail. We demand strict action from govt for her hateful content on Instagram."

The youth wing of the Congress, in its complaint, alleged that following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's announcement on Friday, Ranaut posted Instagram stories, saying India is a "jihadist nation" and called for dictatorship in the country.

An FIR against Ranaut is under sections 124A (sedition), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 505 (statements conducing to public mischief) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
