Karnataka: Govt eases more Covid-19 restrictions from July 5, lifts weekend curfew

The daily night curfew will still remain in place from 9 pm to 5 am.


The Karnataka government lifted more Covid-19 restrictions from July 5 which will remain in place till next 15 days, reported HT. According to the order, the weekend curfew which was in effect from 7pm on Friday to 5am on Monday, has been lifted but the daily night curfew will remain in place from 9pm to 5am. The government offices will now work with 100% capacity and public transport including buses and Bengaluru's Namma Metro will be operational with full seating capacity. Now, a maximum of 100 people can attend weddings and family functions whereas funerals can be attended by a maximum of 20 people which was earlier restricted to 5. According to NDTV, malls have also been allowed to open and the state capital's Garuda Mall is even vaccinating its employees. Temples will also reopen after months but only "darshan" will be allowed. However, theatres, cinema halls, pubs, educational institutions will remain closed till further notice and all kinds of gatherings are still prohibited in the state.
