He also further informed banks to stop the revenue recovery proceedings of Covid victims who have defaulted on bank loans.Seeing the situation in Kerala, the lockdown in the state has been increased for one more week. Moreover, in the meeting which was held today, it was decided to make a few changes in the areas that have been classified for the spread of the disease.

Meanwhile, the local Self Government bodies have reclassified the process, on average test-positivity rate (TPR) for the last seven days. As in the A category, there are 165 local bodies, 473 in the B category, 316 in the C category, and 80 in the D category average TPR is still above 10 percent but has gone down from a high of 29.75per percent. The expected progress in TPR decline is not visible. The lockdown cannot continue all the time that is why the relaxations were allowed, but there is concern that TPR is not falling below 10 percent. Statistics from the past week indicate that there is no considerable decline in the number of patients. We expect the TPR to decrease gradually," he adds.He further added the speed of transmission was well controlled in the first wave.

In the Sero Survey by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), in which only about 11 percent of people in Kerala were infected during the first wave. Talking about the delta variant which is spreading fast, the Kerala government has decided to contain the wave in a way that human health can be accommodated in a better way.
