Kerala Government Relaxes Lockdown Curbs; Shops To Stay Open 6 Days

The minister also asked all the shopkeepers to make special arrangements in portals for the safety of people during the festival time.


On Wednesday the Kerala government loosened the lockdown restriction which were imposed in the state. Health Minister Veena George in a statement, said there will be a triple lockdown for shops located in an area, where more than 1000 people were infected in the week. Talking about other places, all shops will be allowed to open six days in the week, seeing the situation of the state with the time limit from 7 am till 9 pm.

The process will be in effect from now on only the restriction is on August 15 and 22 through the days fall on Sunday.The minister also asks all the shopkeepers to make special arrangements in portals for the safety of people during the festival time. The special meeting is arranged in this regard with the local self-government bodies, police, and traders. In addition, only 40 people are allowed in the worship places, 20 at weddings and funerals.
