KKR V/S SRH: The battle ended with a nail biting super over, Kolkata Knight Riders ripped off Sun Risers Hyderabad

KKR defeated SRH in super over

The 35th match of IPL adhered to the uncertainties prevailing in 2020 and indeed this T20 in Sheikh Zayad Stadium. The blaster match ended with a jaw dropping super over with all hands joined to plead for the victory of their favorites. Both teams played amazingly well in both departments but the super over turned the verdict in favor of Kolkata Knight Riders marking an end to a heart throbbing evening. Tough day for SRH!!!

The game accelerated with SRH winning the toss and elected to bowl the field. They posted a moderate score of 163 runs on loss of 6 wickets. The run chase was quite challenging for Kolkata but after completion of innings they equalized with the chase heading to an astonishing super over.

The post match analysis can't get to a satisfactory end without lauding the Man of the match Lockie Ferguson who outlived Hyderabad with his threatening deliveries. He exhibited a noticeable and un-visited side of himself leaving the fans spell bound. Being the highest wicket taker, he proved himself twice in the same match. Uprooting the crucial wicket of Kane Williamson, he took 3 wickets in total. The excellence didn't halt here as he dismissed David Warner and Abdul Samad in Super Over, choking them on 2 runs and dragging the team beyond the finish line. Pat Cummins, S Mavi and V Chakravarthy also contributed 1 wicket each. S Gill (36 off 37), Eoin Morgan (34 off 23), Dinesh Karthik (29 off 14) and N Rana  (29 off 20) made their valuable contributions to stretch the score to 163.

The Super Over gave some real thrill chills to the fans where Sun Risers forwarded 2 runs on loss of 2 wickets, but Ferguson bundled the team taking 2 wickets. The target of 3 runs was easily grabbed by Kolkata, where 2 runs were indeed compensated by extras. T Natarajan although took 2 wickets but that didn't pull up the game for SRH.
