Kohli’s Poor form is not a Concern: RCB head coach Bangar

Virat Kohli is not in his best form!

RCB head coach Sanjay Bangar comes in defence of Virat Kohli says “the star batsman will soon come out of the bad phase and help the team win matches. Kohli has scored 9, 0,0,12 and 1 in his last five innings. The way he is getting dismissed suggests that he is not in his best form”.

After loss to Rajasthan Royals by 29 runs Bangar said, “As far as form is concern, Kohli is a great cricketer. He has experienced of such ups and downs many times before. He has the zeal and the spirit to come out soon from this phase and play the big innings. He will help the team to win in the important matches to come.”

Bangar has worked with Kohli in the national team also when he was the batting coach. However Bangar admitted that the top order’s form is a matter of concern. And the team is not dependent on one individual player, it’s a team game everyone play their part.

The reason behind losing the matches right now is whenever we lose wickets in the beginning, we lose many wickets in a row.

RCB captain Faf du Plessis said after the match- “we need to fix in the batting order and needed someone in the top four to bat through. We have to change the batting order and see if that works. We have to try and play positively”.

RCB have won five matches and lost four matches so far this season and currently occupying the fifth position in the points table. Whereas Rajasthan Royals registered their sixth win in seven matches this season so far.

Royal Challengers Bangalore will play there next match against Gujarat Titans at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai on April 30, Saturday.
