Kerala in Lockdown till May 23


On friday, Chief Minister of Kerela, Pinarayi Vijayan extended the lockdown till May 23 due raise in cases of cCovid-19. The administration of South India would impose triple lockdown in some parts of districts like Thiruvananthapuram, Thrissur, Ernakulam and Malappuram . The localities have been witnessing an increase in COVID-19 cases.

The pandemic management committee of Kerala had recommended further curbs and also extension of the curfew to prevent the pestilence from over running the State's limited health care capacity.   CM Vijayan stated that the government took the initiative to mitigate the ill effects of the lockdown, chiefly loss of livelihood and being part of it. He also announced about free food kits and immediate distribution of social welfare pensions to fulfil their daily needs. The state would support Anganwadi teachers and Kudumbashree units by providing some facilities.
