Delhi lockdown may be re-imposed if positivity rate goes up: Health Minister. He also said that Delhi is preparing for the third wave of Covid-19 and measures like lockdown will be considered if the positivity rate touches up to 5 per cent.


Delhi health minister Satyendra Jain has warned that a fresh lockdown may be re-imposed in the capital city if Covid-19 rates go up.  He also said that Delhi is preparing for the third wave of Covid-19  and measures like lockdown will be considered if the positivity rate touches up to 5 per cent. While addressing a virtual session organised by ASSOCHAM he as the chief guest, said " All necessary measures are being taken and health infrastructure is being ramped up to unprecedented levels with more than 37,000 Covid-19 dedicated beds built for the fight against the likely third wave of Covid-19. " The Health Minister also shared the experiences of field hospitals or makeshift hospitals which were made during the second wave. He also said makeshift hospitals created in chattarpur, Sant Nirankari Colony, Ramleela maidan are now being ramped up with ICU beds and ventilators,  which are more than 1,200 in number, Meanwhile, the Delhi Government is also training the medical staff and the members belonging to different streams.

According to the Delhi Health bulletin, On Thursday, the positivity rate in Delhi is at 0.08 per cent with 61 fresh Covid-19 cases and two fatalities. 

Meanwhile, During the Delhi unlock it reopened public transportations such as the metro as well as buses which are running with 100 per cent capacities. For which public transportation services are also witnessing large crowds and fear of getting contaminated with the virus is also increasing.
