Maharashtra Administers Record Over 6 Lakh Covid-19 Vaccine Doses In A Day


According to the government officials Maharashtra on Wednesday administered more than 6 lakh doses of the covid-19 vaccine which set a new single-day record of inoculating people against the infection.

Along with this, the state bettered the record of administering 6,02,163 till 7 pm on Wednesday. Meanwhile, chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and Health minister  Rajesh Tope lauded the health officials and staff for the record vaccinations. Whereas Maharashtra has been at the forefront of Covid-19 vaccination in the country. so far more than 29.1 million vaccines have been administered in the state.

According to the statement given by Health Minister Rajesh Tope to India today "Our capacity is 10 lakh and the target can be reached as and when the supply is increased."

Dr. Pradeep Vyas, additional chief secretary (public health department) said that "Today, we have bettered the performance of yesterday (Tuesday) and administered the highest ever number of covid-19 vaccination doses in a single day. The figures are still 7 pm and could rise further."

Maharashtra on Wednesday recorded over 10,000 new Covid-19 cases and 163 deaths whereas active Covid-19 cases in the state stand at 1,21,859.
