Maharashtra crosses 100 million Covid-19 vaccine landmark

Covid-19 cases are declining in the Maharashtra state


 On Tuesday, Maharashtra state crossed a milestone covering 100 million Covid-19 vaccination landmarks. 

According to the tweet, Maharashtra health Minister Rajesh Tepe said, "Today Maharashtra crossed the benchmark of 100 million Covid-19 vaccine doses. It was possible with the active involvement of all district officers. Congratulations to all."


As per the civic body data, over 2.6 million citizens were vaccinated while the number dropped to 1.6 million till October 29. The data also shows that there has been no shortage of doses, as the civic body received 1.6 million doses in October against 1.7 million doses the previous month.


According to the report, Maharashtra chief Minister Uddhav Thackrey set the target to inoculate 100 % with the first dose of the Covid vaccine by the end of November.  While the state has covered 74.38%of its targeted beneficiaries.  The government also launched a mission kavach kundal, which is a special vaccination campaign to boost its Covid-19 inoculation target.


On Tuesday, the Maharashtra state reported 982 cases of Covid-19  with 27 deaths. The overall cases of the  6,619329 whereas the toll touched 1,40,430. Around 1,293 patients have been recovered from the deadly virus. 


Maharashtra state was among the worst-hit states with Coronavirus. The state witnessed an incessant rise in cases of Covid-19, also the gym, cinema halls, malls and auditoriums throughout the states are reopening in a phased manner.
