Maharashtra with a high number of Covid-19 cases is in an alarming situation, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Tuesday announced that curfew like restrictions will take place at 8 pm from 14th April till 1st of May, but didn't call it a lockdown. While addressing a press conference, Chief Minister said that stricter restrictions will take place and only essential services will be allowed. He announced a Rs 5,476 crore relief package for those who will be affected across sectors under  certain categories. He further added that, No person will be allowed to be in public without any valid reason. Only 25 people will be allowed in marriages or public gathering. He also said that,all the public spaces, activities and services will remain  closed.

Only essential services will remain open between 7 am and 8 am on working days.Whereas public transport, including train, bus and essential services like groceries, vegetable shops, fruit vendors, bakeries will remain open. Manufacturing sector industries that require considerable time to stop and restart operations can be at 50 per cent capacity and all the labourers and workers should work in an isolated manner.

Meanwhile, due to a surge in Covid19 cases the State board exams of class 10 and 12 in Maharashtra have been postponed .
