Maharashtra recorded 711 new Covid cases and 11 deaths in last seven days

Covid-19 revised guidelines are also issued by Health Ministry....


Covid cases in Maharashtra have increased up to 711, nearly 186 per cent in a day. In capital Mumbai 218 cases recorded. Within last 24 hours four people have died in the state due to contagious infection. Yesterday a total of 248 cases were logged. 

 

Due to increase in infection in last seven days 11 people have died. Currently the rate of the case fatality in the state is 1.82 per cent. With 3,792 active cases in the state which is a 62 per cent rise in a week. With positivity rate of 13.17 per cent Mumbai currently has 1,162 active cases. 

 

Maharashtra Health Minister Tanaji Sawant, earlier in the day, announced that a mock drill next week (April 13 and 14) will be conduct by the state to assess Covid preparedness. "As suggested by the central government, we are going to hold a mock drill for our Covid preparedness in the state on 13-14th April," he said.

 

Along with that, the health minister asked people to remain vigilant, not to panic and take precautions. Mr Sawant said, "The number of cases are increasing but it's a mild variant so not affecting much. Everyone should take precautions and there is no need to panic".

Until there is clinical suspicion antibiotics should not be taken for bacterial infection. The possibility of infection of COVID-19 with other endemic infections must be considered. Systemic corticosteroids are not indicated in mild disease," the revised guidelines includes.

 

If there is any difficulty in breathing, of high fever/severe cough then seek immediate medical attention, particularly if lasts more than 5 days. A low threshold is to be kept for those with any of the high-risk features," guidelines discussed and prepared in January mentioned.

 

3,038 fresh Covid cases were reported yesterday in all over India, along with the active cases increased up to 21,179, according to the Health Ministry recent data.
