Maharashtra's first omicron patient discharged after testing negative for Covid-19

Two RT -PCR were conducted which resulted " negative"


Covid-19 led New Variant Omicron has created fear among the people, but there's also a sign of relief that its recovery is also speeding up. 



According to a civic official, the First patient in Maharashtra who tested positive with omicron variant has been discharged and was tested negative.  The patient used to reside in the Thande district of Mumbai and got discharged on Wednesday.



As per the information, the patient was a 33-year-old marine engineer from Kalyan Dombivali municipal area and had arrived from Delhi airport from South Africa via Dubai in the last week of November. The information said he boarded his flight from South Africa on November 24. After his arrival, RT -PCR test was conducted which showed that he had tested positive for Covid-19.



According to the Maharashtra health authorities, the swab samples of the patient were sent to genome sequencing after which it was confirmed that he was carrying Omicron strain.



As per the information, given by the commissioner, he said, "He was discharged as he tested negative with the infection. As per the standard operating protocol (SOP). His two RT -PCR tests were conducted and both were negative. He is perfectly all right now and there are no symptoms. Also, he is advised of seven day home quarantine.



According to the data, the state carries 10 cases of Omicron. Also, the respective states have implemented guidelines to be followed to curb the infection.
