Maharashtra stops flights and trains from Delhi

Maharashtra government to take a call for resuming flights and trains from Delhi

According to the Cabinet Minister of Maharashtra, Vijay Waddetiwar, the state will decide on resuming train and air services to and fro Delhi, after 8 days. Delhi has been suffering from the worst flare up of the infection since last month while Maharashtra has been able to successfully contain the outbreak.

"Along with Delhi, we are also looking at the condition in Gujarat. If Gujarat declares lockdown, then people will anyway not be able to come out of the state or go in," added the minister, who handles the Relief and Rehabilitation portfolio of the Maharashtra government.

Delhi is currently being tagged as the worst affected city, which has been recording an increasing number in the infections, since October end. Many are blaming the festive season shopping and an increase in air pollution for burst in new cases. Experts also feel that e drop in mercury levels could further deteriorate the situation.
