Maharashtra Tourism to host three-day grape festival

The state government tourism department will host a three-day grape festival in Junnar, one of the tourist attractions in Maharashtra from February 19 to 21.

The Junnar Festival is part of a series of 20 smaller festivals in February and a march organized by the tourism department to be held in six districts of the state - Pune, Nashik, Aurangabad, Nagpur, Konkan, and Amravati. The national tourism department will host a three-day grape festival in Junnar, one of the tourist attractions in Maharashtra from February 19 to 21. The festival, according to officials, aims to establish Junnar's vineyards as the most popular tourist destination in the province and to promote grape tourism.

Supriya Karmarkar, deputy director, of Pune district, said, "Visitors will be able to enjoy a special tour of freshly planted grapes on the farm, eat and buy drinks right there and see the whole process of making wine at the festival." “We will have a variety of grapes and grape products such as raisins, black streams, grape juice among others. Visitors will also have the opportunity to buy freshly picked grapes directly from the farm,” he further added. “It's a great way to help grape growers increase their reach while giving them the opportunity to meet and exchange information with tourists, professionals, and businesses. To experience the festival in person, participants must register by registering until February 18. They can visit https://bit.ly/3tUCoQL and fill out a form to participate,” he remarked.

Some of the attractions of the festival will include local food and local rides, heritage tours, and fun cultural programs.
