Masks No Longer Mandatory In Haryana's Gurugram

Covid Cases Surge in Gurugram!


Witnessing a downfall in the daily cases of Covid-19. Masks have been considered "not mandatory". Whereas national capital Delhi and Haryana's Gurugram area are under it. 

 

The state has recorded 129 cases of coronavirus after more than a month. The numbers travelled upwards as the Haryana government lifted the mandatory tag on masks. A similar trend was observed in Delhi, which called off the fine on non-usage of masks, practically making them optional.

 

Haryana had lifted all Covid-related restrictions in the state on February 16. The government, however, had advised mask usage in crowded areas.

 

A notification issued by an additional chief secretary (health and family welfare) Rajeev Arora stated, “State government notification dated 27.05.2020, vide which wearing face mask by each person while being in public places and workplaces, was made mandatory, is hereby withdrawn with immediate effect. No penalty or fine of Rs 500 shall be imposed for not wearing face masks in public/workplaces.”

 

The order, however, added that the general public is advised to adhere to Covid-19 appropriate behavior, and wearing face masks, frequent use of sanitizers, and maintaining social distance was desirable.

 

Covid led new variant is also creating chaos and panic-like situation among the people. Few state governments are working well towards Preparation to curb people from getting trapped with the infection.

Whereas The positivity rate stood at 2.87 percent on February 5.

 

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has said that there is no need to panic.
