More than 65 Kerala students test positive for Covid-19 in Karnataka's Kolar college: Minister

As per the ANI report, the Minister said that the state government will take action against the management.


On Thursday (2nd September) Karnataka Health Minister Dr K Sudhakar said over 65 students who came from Kerala have been tested positive for Covid-19 in Kolar KGF College of Dental Science and Hospital. 

According to IANS report, the minister said, "It has been felt that a one week quarantine for them is difficult and keeping their future in mind, we have directed the concerned education institutions to quarantine them in hostel facilities available in the college campuses." He said that he had also directed the officials to complete the vaccination drive in villages of Kerala. He said, "yesterday, we administered almost 12 lakh doses of Covid-19 vaccine in a single day. We have directed administrations of border districts to achieve 100% vaccination coverage in villages lying within 20 km of the state border with Kerala."

As per the ANI report, the Minister said that the state government will take action against the management. 

Kerala on Wednesday reported 32,803 New Covid-19 cases and 173 deaths taking the overall tally to 40,90,036 whereas the death toll touched 20,961.
