Mumbai: A builder was duped of Rs. 47,002 from a telecaller

MUMBAI: By an e-caller a builder from Bandra, Mohan Wadhwa, was duped of RS 47,002 in a new way. A telecaller received a phone call who said they could help him in paying his vehicle’s monthly EMI as current month his bank account had been frozen.

 

However, it is true that the builder's account was frozen by the Reserve Bank of India a month ago, link was sent by woman caller first he passed it to his manager and asked him to pay the EMI for the loan using another of his bank accounts.

 

The link turned out to be a con. From khar police station an officer said that further investigations are going on, they are searching if any bank employee could be involved with the woman caller, who was fully informed of the builder's vehicle loan being due for payment.

 

As part of the probe, we have now sought details of the bank account from which the money was credited," said the officer. After the builder's manager clicked on the link the money (Rs. 27,002) was transferred to another account, the officer said.
