Narendra Modi Welcomes Indian Tokyo Olympics Athletes

Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed Indian athletes who returned from the Olympics for breakfast at his residence on Monday.


Indian athletes returned from Tokyo with a booty of seven medals, including javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra's historic gold in athletics, the best show in the country's history at the Olympics.

In addition to Chopra's gold, India won two silver and four bronze medals at the Tokyo Olympics. The silver medals came from weightlifter Mirabai Chanu and fighter Ravi Kumar Dahiya. The bronze medals went to the shuttle PV Sindhu, the men's hockey team, and boxers. Lovlina Borgohain and the fighter Bajrang Punia.

P.M. Modi spoke of the enormous spectacle of the Indian athletes during the celebration of the 75th year of independence and welcomed the players home. Modi hosted a breakfast in houour of the players at his residence. In the pictures ofthe event P.M.Modi can be seen exaninig a hockey stick while chatting with the athletes.
