New Delhi reports 259 fresh cases

Positivity rate 14.3 per cent


New Delhi reported 259 new Covid cases with positivity rate of 14.3 per cent, along with two deaths due to the virus on Monday, as per the data shared by the government’s health department. 

 

On Sunday Delhi witness 405 coronavirus cases with positivity rate of 11.2 per cent, and three deaths.

 

On Saturday the city recorded 564 Covid cases with positivity rate of 14.93 per cent.

 

With positivity rate of 16.90 per cent on Thursday the Delhi witness 865 cases and seven deaths.

 

From over 7,970 Covid-19 beds only 241 are occupied currently, the data showed.

 

On January 16, in New Delhi number of Covid cases had dropped to zero for the first time since pandemic. But from the past months again the cases have been increasing.

 

Medical experts have said Omicron sub-variant XBB.1.16 could be driving the surge in cases in the city. However, they have maintained that there is no need to panic and people should follow Covid-appropriate behavior and get their booster shots.
