New Zealand won by 8 wickets against Afghanistan, Pack-Up for Team India

Team India is knocked out from the list of Semi-Finals after Afghanistan lost to the Kiwis

It's a victory for News Zealand but it's all over for team India after yesterday's match of ICC World Cup T-20. News Zealand won by eight wickets against Afghanistan last night. The triumph of Kiwi's gradually resulted in knocking out team India from the list of Semi-Finals.

Match was held in Abu Dhabi. This is the third time News Zealand have qualified for the semi-finals of a T20 World Cup having earlier reached the stage in 2007 and 2016. India, on the other hand, has now failed to reach the semis for the fourth time.

Every Indian had hoped to see team India sticking to the Semi-Finals after reaching the highest net run rate (NRR) of +1.619 among Group 2.

They began their campaign with defeats against arch-rivals Pakistan, by a thumping eight wickets, and against News Zealand, by five wickets. But resounding victories of eight wickets, against both Afghanistan and Scotland, helped India keep their hopes alive.

However, with News Zealand winning their respective group games, India's fate depended completely on the Afghans to pull off the win in Abu Dhabi.

India will now play their final group game, against Namibia on Monday.

It is seen that many of the prominent players of team India have congratulated the Kiwis for their victory.

Harbhajan Singh congratulated the Black Caps side and through his tweet and said that they thoroughly deserved a semi-final spot after Pakistan had made it through with convincing wins.

Veteran Cricketer Virendra Sehwag shared a meme that summed it all up for Indian fans.
