Night curfew extended in Gujarat: Omicron Threat

Curfew imposed in eight cities of Gujarat state


On Tuesday, the Gujarat Government extended the night curfew in the state. The curfew has been extended in eight cities of the state till December 10.

As per the information the night curfew has been in the effect between 1 am and 5 am since November 1.  In between the timings were also changed by two hours due to festivals like Diwali and chhath puja.

The eight cities are Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Vadodara, Jamnagar, Bhavnagar, Gandhinagar, and Junagadh, and will play for 10 more days.

The state government on Saturday has also made the RT -PCR test mandatory for travelers arriving from "risk" countries and will have to go for a test at the airport.

 The cases of Covid-19 new Variant Omicron are worrying. Many other states such as Maharashtra, Karnataka, and many more have imposed a strict RT -PCR mandatory and Institutional quarantine for international travelers. 

 Knowing about the guidelines: 

1.      Shops and beauty salons must be operated till 12 am, restaurants will run till midnight with 75 percent capacity.

2.      Cinema halls with 100 percent capacity.

3.      For marriage and functions only 400 persons are permitted till December 10, and for the funeral last rites 100 people are allowed.

On Tuesday, Gujarat reported 40 new cases of Covid-19 which took the overall caseload to 8, 27,475. No death was reported during the day. Only 3 fatalities were reported in November so far.
