Positivity rate rises in Jammu


 

 

 

 

Night curfew has been imposed in Jammu from today. The state is witnessing a rise in its positivity cases.  The district administration has imposed a curfew under section 144 CRPC from 10:00 pm to 06:00 am in the territorial jurisdiction of the district.


 

According to the statement, the DM said,  "The positivity rate has increased beyond 0.2 per cent which requires immediate attention and remedial on the part of district administration." Adding more the DM said, all station house offices and tehsildars shall ensu?e that announcements are made on public address systems to make people aware of the new Development. It also held a detailed review of the Covid-19 situation in the city and decided that immediate measures are required as the positivity rate has increased by 0.2 per cent.


 

The decision was taken during a review meeting of the district disaster management Authority (DDMA) on the pandemic situation in the city. The order also states that the Chief medical officer (CMO) shall ensure robust Covid-19 testing in congested areas and potential hotspots.

 


India reported 10,197 new covid cases, Jammu reported 1,517 while the total death toll reached 4,453. Around 3,28,318 have been recovered so far.
