Night curfew in Noida, Ghaziabad from 10 pm to 5 am till April 17 amid rising Covid cases

The Noida and Ghaziabad administrations on Thursday imposed a night curfew in the cities as the Covid cases are increasing rapidly across the country. According to the officials, the curfew will be in effect from Thursday till April 17 from 10 pm to 5 am. However, the movement of essential goods and services will continue without any hindrance.

The order stated all government and private educational institutions will remain closed till the mentioned date. However, all exams including practicals shall be held as per schedule and are exempted from this order, DM Gautam Budh Nagar Suhas LY said. The decision has been taken after a review meeting was held to analyse the current situation. The state government on Wednesday had authorised District Magistrates of those districts with more than 500 active cases to decide further course of action.

According to the order, people working for government and essential departments such as police, fire, hospitals will have to produce their IDs for verification during checking. Similarly, travellers will also have to show a copy of their ticket upon checking.
