No Covid-19 vaccination for two days in Mumbai, Vaccine shortage

Vaccination centres will be closed on August 19 and 20 due to shortage of vaccine.

Covid-19 second wave had hit Maharashtra badly and Maharashtra was one of the worst-hit states with large number of Covid-19 cases.

On August 19 and 20 Mumbai's Covid-19 vaccination centres will remain closed due to shortage of vaccines in the city. On Wednesday, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) announced that vaccination will be postponed on Thursday (19 August) and Friday (20 August) at Government and Municipal centres in Mumbai. BMC added that vaccination will resume on Saturday as the fresh stock will arrive on Thursday night and will be distributed at centres on Friday. BMC said that the citizens of Mumbai are updated to the extent to which vaccination stocks will be procured and appropriate decisions are taken.

Meanwhile, vaccination shortage in Mumbai has become a common issue. This is for the third time in a month that vaccinations are being stopped due to a shortage in vaccine supply. Whereas earlier BMC announced the suspension on August 12 and August 13.
