COVID cases are constantly on a rise, Health minister, Dr Vardhan reminded people that the coronavirus is a respiratory virus and in the coming winter season, you may see increased rates of infection and transmission of disease, He, said: "There is no need to gather in large numbers to prove your faith or your religion, you can pray to God from your home and suggested that everyone should celebrate festivals with their families".

On Sunday, country crossed the around 70-lakh mark in the overall number of COVID cases and is now next behind the US  which is the worst sufferer and with the upcoming festivals like with Durga Puja, Dussehra, Diwali and Chhath Puja and there is a huge concern regarding COVID as people have lowered the use of all safety norms and precautions.

Rajesh Bhushan, Health Secretary, said that from several days there is an increment in people gathering at the streets of Kerala for onam festival, Large numbers of gatherings have already started occurring in the streets of Bengal for Diwali and Durga puja.

According to Harsh Vardhan, he said in his video address that, COVID 19 situation will worsen more If we are careless in following the safety norms while celebrating festivals and this will create a huge problem".

None of the religious leaders or any religion says that festivals should be celebrated by putting lives in the mouth of danger, no Gods say you need to go to big pandals to pray. If you know there is a fire outside and you still go out in the fire in the name of religion what's the point of such festivals," the minister said in a strong message.
