Parts of Tamil Nadu to receive heavy rainfall!

Tamil Nadu will receive heavy rainfall in a few parts of the state. The India meteorological has issued a red alert in Chennai and parts of Tamil Nadu.

Indian meteorological department (IMD) had earlier predicted that the theni district is likely to receive heavy rainfall on Thursday. The IMD said, Chennai,thiruvallur, Kanchipuram, and ranipet are expected to receive heavy rainfall.

 

According to the statement, IMD  deputy director, Dr. S Balachandran said,'' Chennai, Thiruvalluvar, Kancheepuram and ranipet are expected to receive heavy rainfall as the low pressure around the coast on Thursday. Ramanathapuram and thoothukudi district may receive heavy rainfall." Adding more he said, "heavy rainfall expected in Tiruvannamalai,kallakurichi, Salem,perambalur,Karur,virudhunagar,tenkasi, Madurai districts to expect light to moderate rainfall. Fishermen are not advised to venture into the west-central and southwest Bay of Bengal.

 

The then district collector has announced the schools and colleges will be closed in the district due to heavy rainfall. 

 

Tamil Nadu witnessed heavy rainfall throughout the city. The city was lashed completely with water. Waterlogging was observed in several areas. Also, 14 people lost their lives due to heavy rainfall.
