Petrol price touches Rs.107 in Delhi

Price of Petrol has increased in other states of India as well


The prices of petrol and diesel have touched a peak. Today (23rd October) the prices of petrol reach rupees 107 per litre in the National capital. As per the price notification from the state-owned fuel merchants, gasoline and diesel prices jumped for the fourth consecutive day this month.


Increment in fuel prices such as LPG gas cylinder, diesel and petrol has become a common problem for few metro cities.  The prices have climbed by 35 paise.. whereas the price in Mumbai has touched peak to Rs 113.12 per litre and diesel for 104 per litre.

 

Also, Kolkata saw an increase in its price level, a gallon of fuel cost rupees 107.78, Chennai petrol cost rupees 104.22 per litre. 

 

Oil minister, Hardeep Singh puri equated cutting taxes to axing one's own feet, saying levies funded government schemes to provide free Covid-19 vaccine, meals and cooking gas to millions during the pandemic crisis. 
 

Before May 4 and July 17, the price of petrol was hiked by rupees 11.4 per litre. During this time the prices have increased by rupees 9.14 per litre.

With the harsh hit of Covid-19 in the country. The economy has also been impacted badly. The price hike has led to several issues and the financial crisis has become an epicentre in India.  Whereas the incessant price hike in fuel price is also leading to the closure of vehicles and the use is decreasing gradually.
