Pfizer BioNTech Vaccine Permitted For Use In The UK Next Week

UK sanctions Pfizer vaccines for use from next week

The United Kingdom (UK) has become the first European country to ratify COVID-19 vaccine with its regulator clearing Pfizer Inc. and BioNTech to use the vaccines starting next week.

Pfizer Inc and its German partner in November earlier this year said that the vaccine shot that is relying on the modern technology called messenger RNA or mRNA, was 95%  effective at the clinical trial data at the time of final analysis of the vaccine.

According to a statement by the UK government the vaccine will be available from next week in all of Britain. The UK already placed an order for 40 million doses of the vaccine which is sufficient to vaccinate 20 million people with two shots each. An mRNA has never been approved before for human beings but people have received them at the time of clinical trials. It is the fastest ever vaccine to go from concept to reality which took only 10 months to develop successfully.

The Health Secretary of UK Matt Hancock tweeted “Help is on its way. The NHS stands ready to start vaccinating early next week”. Experts still suggest that even after the arrival of the vaccine people still have to remain alert and follow all coronavirus protocols like social distancing and mask wearing in public space
